As such, the company strives to offer small business phone system solutions that are both user-friendly and flexible for personal, mobile, and small business use. Phone.com has seen substantial growth over the past few years, and they continue to add more premium features and improve functionality – making them ideal for companies that want a cloud-based phone service provider that is constantly innovating.

We here at Revuezzle actually use Phone.com, and have for several years. Every team member has their own extension and can route calls to their cell phone or to a home office phone.

Pricing/Minutes/Contract: (Rating: 9/10)

Phone.com now offers both Pay Per Minute and Unlimited Plans in an easy to understand pricing model. Their pricing and plans are now very similar to both RingCentral and VirtualPBX. Bringing the Big Three very close in pricing and plan offerings.

With Phone.com you have 3 Pay Per Minute plans to choose from, as well as 3 Unlimited Minutes Plans. The pay per minute plans start at $12.99 per month ($9.99/mo paid annually) with 300 minutes per month and ramp up to their Pro Plan for $39.99 per month ($29.99/mo paid annually) with 1,000 minutes per month. Their are other features like number of included phone lines, and number of sms messages per month that differentiate the plans as well. Unlimited Plans include the Base plan starting at $29.99/month ($24.99/month paid annually) provides for 1 local or toll free number, 5,000 SMS Messages and , the Plus plan starting at $37.99/month ($32.99/month paid annually), and the Pro plan starting at $59.99/month ($49.99/month paid annually). Again the big differences between these plans are the number of phone lines, the number of sms messages, and advanced features that are included. The base plan with both the Pay Per Minute and Unlimited plans comes with a 30 day money back guarantee, and all plans include mobile app, unlimited user extensions and a local or toll-free number. You also get over 40 standard features such as call forwarding, call blocking, call transfer, auto attendant, voicemail to email, HD audio conferencing and more.

Additional minutes can be purchased in bundles ranging from $19.50 per month for an additional 500 minutes to $725 per month and giving you as much as 25,000 additional minutes on the Pay Per Minute Plans.

Phone.com is the first and only merchant (currently) to offer a plan with true unlimited toll-free minutes.

Call Management: (Rating: 8/10)

Phone.com provides offers may of the same features you will find with higher priced competitors but at a significantly lower per month cost.

Some of the call management features you will find include online address book – for faster calling in the future – call blocking, call handling rules, call logs, call notifications via email or text, call screening, call transfer, call waiting, caller ID, HD audio conferencing, do not disturb, follow me, call forwarding, call queues, voicemail, voicemail to email, business texting, and menus.

Available Numbers: (Rating: 9/10)

Each plan offers from one local or toll free number up to three local or toll free numbers on the Pro Plans. You can add additional phone lines for an added fee ($4.99/month). Setting up Phone Numbers in Phone.com is a simple process – you can choose from local, toll-free, international, vanity or even have your existing phone number ported over to Phone.com

Phone.com offers toll-free numbers and you can choose from 800, 888 and 877 prefixes. For toll-free numbers there is no extra fee, but you are billed based on the plan's current pricing. There is an additional charge for toll-free calls if they originate from Canada ($0.05 per minute) or pay-phones ($0.99 per call).

For local numbers, you can choose any area code within the United States that you want to localize to.

You can also opt for a customized local or toll-free number (vanity number – like 1-800-eatcake) so that it is easier for customers to remember your company's contact information. Custom numbers are charged a one-time fee (but can be waived by using our coupon code in the offers below) and an additional $4.99 per month. Rarer numbers can cost over $100 for a one-time fee in order to reserve the number.

Phone.com also offers international numbers so that your company can establish a presence in another country. For standard countries (like Australia, Poland or South Africa) the cost is $4.99 per month and premium countries (like Argentina or Hong Kong) cost $12.99 per month.

If you already have a number, you can port that number to your new Phone.com account and even transfer multiple numbers at a single time. Porting with Phone.com takes an average of 10 to 15 days, but may take up to 60 days depending on the company you're porting from.

Advanced Features: (Rating: 8/10)

Over 50 features come standard with the Phone.com service. Some of the advanced features offered by Phone.com come at an additional cost while others are free. This is nothing unusual, because most small business phone services have additional fees for their premium features.

A few advanced features worth noting include call recording, caller analytics, CRM integration, professional recording, voicemail transcription, custom local numbers, and even video conferencing.

Usability/Ease of Use: (Rating: 10/10)

Ease of use is an area in which Phone.com prides itself on, and it lives up to the hype. Users can communicate via mobile, landline, desktop, or web. There is no need to purchase additional or special equipment, allowing you to use existing equipment and reducing set-up costs. The dashboard allows you to easily manage your account with Phone.com and it was specifically designed so that it was easy to use for just about anyone.

Setting up Extensions with Phone.com is made simple with there easy to use and intuitive web interface. Their online system allows you to easily configure, manage and design more than 50 features in a single location.

Phone.com offers 24/7 support for all its pricing plans – something other companies often charge extra for. Users can call toll free, or chat online with a representative. What We Don't Like About Phone.com

Cost of Premium Features: All premium call features are priced at an additional monthly charge. While this is not surprising as far as pricing goes and is done purposefully to appeal to individuals and small businesses that need only some advanced features. If you are a small business in need of only one or two advanced features like call recording, voicemail transcription—or none at all—this is an ideal price setup. However, for those mid to large businesses with higher demand for these features, the additional a la carte cost is not ideal.
