Wines are from the United States, but the Premier membership does include small production, boutique and vintage wines. Sparkling wines and champagnes are not included.

Who is This Wine Club Best Suited For?

WSJ tries to cater to wine lovers of all levels. Whether you are just an everyday wine drinker or you enjoy fine wines and vintages, both membership levels attempt to fulfill the needs of all. While it is great for newcomers to wine clubs, eventually members may feel that the club does not have as extensive of options or features that other wine clubs do.

What We Like and What We Don't Like

WSJ Wine is a great wine club for those who can fit into their two very distinct club roles – the everyday wine drinker or the fine wine lover. Unfortunately, they do not offer champagne or sparkling wines – which are something a lot of wine lovers would enjoy. They do ship every three months and include 12 bottles in the average membership, which is perfect for every level of wine drinker.

This is a consumer-favorite wine club, but their varieties and selections could use some work. They do have great offers, but members only receive discounts on their shipments – not on other purchases. You can cancel at any time, and you can even skip a delivery if you are not ready to receive 12 more bottles.

One perk to WSJ is that you receive a free tasting guide – telling you what notes you should recognize in the glass, how to properly serve and store, etc. Also, you can login to your account before your membership crate ships and swap out the wines to your liking.

Overall, WSJ is best if you’re new to wine clubs and you are not sure what you like or dislike yet. But, once you get into the wine club experience, it is unlikely WSJ will meet your needs.

7.1 Total Score
A more refined wine club.

WSJ Wine Club is a refined club aimed at the wine aficionado. Whether you are a fan of luscious reds or you just can’t help but adore crisp whites, WSJ tries to cater to all palates. To even better serve your club needs, they offer two levels of membership - giving you more control over what you receive.
