Miramonte Winery Wine Club Review

[offer_product id=”2736″]

Miramonte Wine Club is hosted by the Miramonte Winery. This club features local events, red carpet treatment for members, and access to discounts and great wine. Wines can be shipped to the member’s home or office as well as picked up for free at the winery – making this club unique when it comes to member benefits.

A local winery offering excellent perks and exclusive access to wines.

  • Multiple membership options
  • Local events
  • Free wine tastings monthly at winery
  • Free pickup on membership shipments
  • Unclear shipping policy and rates
  • Limited customer service
  • Only 2 bottle shipments
  • $15 termination fee if you cancel before the 3 shipment minimum

Wine Selection: (Rating: 8/10)

Miramonte Wine Club deals exclusively in wines from the Miramonte Winery. But, the memberships are flexible and allow members to choose from all reds, all whites, sangria only and a mixture. Their in-house wine masters carefully select the wines before putting them in the shipment.

Wine Quality: (Rating: 9/10)

As a boutique winery, Miramonte Wine Club has access to limited production, special releases and their own in-house blends. They deal exclusively in high-quality wines and even allow members to order sangria – something other wine clubs do not offer.

Memberships/Pricing: (Rating: 8/10)

There are no contracts with the Miramonte Wine Club. The number of shipments depends on the club selected. Pricing varies per membership, but each membership option only has a $10 range between the price options. Shipping is not included, but members can pick up their shipments at the winery if they are local or pay to ship it to their home.

Miramonte does not offer a one-time shipment for their clubs; instead, they have a 3-month minimum commitment required. They also do not offer limited duration memberships (unless you are ordering one for a gift). Unfortunately, this means you would have to call and cancel your membership with them to stop shipments.

Additional Perks: (Rating: 10/10)

Not only do members receive detailed tasting notes and wine pairing with each shipment, but they are treated like royalty by the winery. Members receive 20% off additional wine purchases as well as 10 to 20% off wine-related merchandise. Special discounts are given at wine events, and members can go to the winery for a free monthly wine tasting (with one guest) and receive red carpet treatment every time they arrive at the winery. Also, members get access to limited edition wines and receive notifications of new wines before they are offered to the public. Members can also take advantage of personalized, etched wine bottles

States: (Rating: 5/10)

The shipping is unclear with Miramonte. They state that they can ship anywhere, but if you speak to a customer service rep they state that their locations can vary. Therefore, it is hard to determine where exactly shipments can go.

Gift Memberships and Options: (Rating: 8/10)

Miramonte does have gift memberships as well as gift certificates available. When purchasing a gift membership you can specify the duration so that you do not have to call and cancel.

Wines can also be purchased separately outside of the clubs for gifting – including their etched and customized wine bottles. For gift memberships you can limit the duration of the membership after the three-month minimum.

Your gifted memberships do not arrive with a personalized gift card like other merchants.

Website Features: (Rating: 6/10)

The website is rather basic, but still provides prospective members with the information they need. The site’s blog also features upcoming events, company news, wine features and recipes. Unfortunately, their signup page doesn’t include any of the memberships listed on the site and members have to wait for a team member to contact them to officially set up their membership.

Customer Service/Support: (Rating: 6/10)

Customer support is limited with Miramonte Wine Club, because all customer support is filtered through the winery itself. Only phone support is available and this is limited. Members can change their account information online by filling out a form, but have to wait for a winery official to still contact them and verify the changes.

Who is This Wine Club Best Suited For?

Miramonte Wine Club is probably great for locals who live by the winery – especially those who want to pick up their shipment free. Because a lot of the perks have to do with visiting the winery itself (i.e. red carpet treatment, discount at events and free monthly wine tastings in the tasting room), California residents will enjoy this club more and get more out of it than members elsewhere in the country.

What We Like and What We Don't Like

Miramonte Wine Club offers benefits that other clubs just don’t have – such as the red carpet treatment, free wine tastings at their winery and local event exclusives. But, most of these events will only benefit those who live near the winery – and members from across the country won’t get to experience those rewards. One benefit to locals too is that they can pick up their shipment at the winery – saving on shipping costs.

Their per bottle pricing is on the higher side for some varieties and members will only have access to Miramonte wines. They do, however, offer sangria, which other wine clubs do not offer. And, they are flexible on all reds, all whites or a mixture.

The shipping policy is confusing and unclear and signing up for a membership is rather low-tech compared to others. But, it does mean you are receiving a personalized club membership and you will actually be greeted by winery team members who are thankful for your signing up.
