Just Host is a relatively new name in the hosting game. Their domain was originally registered in 2002, and the website became operational in 2008. They hit the ground running with a competitive affiliate program and several partnerships. Aside from this, it’s difficult to find information on Just Host. A deeper search reveals speculation that they share the same data centers as BlueHost, and they are both owned by the Endurance International Group (EIG).

Hosting Packages: (Rating: 7/10)
JustHost offers several hosting packages including website hosting, VPS hosting, and test drive cPanel options. Their website hosting packages are amongst the most affordable on the market, starting at $2.95/month for the basic package.
Webhosting packages include a free one year domain registration and site building templates. The eCommerce capabilities are vast including shopping carts and password protected directories. Website hosting also comes with 24/7 tech support and unlimited email and data transfers.
VPS hosting with JustHost comes with root access, multi-account management tools, and domain name registration.
Test drive cPanel capabilities include email management and configuration of accounts. It also includes a powerful domain manager and help center, along with website statistic information.
Dedicated hosting only offers Linux-based dedicated servers and cost $119.99 a month.
The hosting plans are easy to understand and come in three levels: Basic, Plus, and Pro. Each have one domain, one to unlimited website options, and five to unlimited email accounts. While basic and affordable, hosting packages from JustHost lack windows-based hosting and there is no managed WordPress hosting.
Features: (Rating: 7/10)
JustHost has basic features and a few extras that may be worth the price, particularly for those whose site needs include e-commerce. Features for the Plus and Pro plan outweigh those of the Basic plan. These include marketing offers included, $150 to $300, and privacy and backup protection. The commerce features include secure checkouts and various shopping cart options, along with password protected directories. Multi-media features include streaming video and audio capabilities. Despite these added features, pcmag.com cites a lack or features compared to the competition.
Features JustHost is known for include domain name registration, unlimited email accounts and management with certain packages. The free advertising credits also lure in users as does the free script library for scripts such as WordPress, osCommerce, and Joomla to name a few. Security features may be helpful, however the extra charges and upsells for any extra features may prove bothersome to users.
WordPress: (Rating: 0/10)
JustHost does not offer managed WordPress hosting like the competition.
Security: (Rating: 6/10)
This particular web host gives a breakdown of how to make websites more secure. The tutorial covers the basics and keeps it simple. This is the first we’ve seen of such a tutorial, and Just Host deserves a kudos for that. Many security issues a new webmaster experiences are completely avoidable.
Aside from that, Just Host boasts secure servers, password-protected directories, and hotlink protection. To keep the service running at all times, the company has a UPS power backup, diesel generator, and 24/7 network monitoring in case something goes wrong.
On the other hand, Just Host isn’t the friendliest host when it comes to backing up customer files. They won’t automatically backup large sites, and the files are at risk of deletion should customers accidentally let their accounts lapse. In addition, the host only performs weekly courtesy backups that aren’t guaranteed.
Security features beyond basic also come with a price. SiteLock for malware scan and removal is $19.99 a year and other security features can cost users $69.99 a year. Lack of security features included with packages may put JustHost out of step with the competition.
Reliability: (Rating: 8/10)
While JustHost says they have high uptime percentages, they do not give specific statistics to back up uptime claims. They do have UPS power back-up generators and 24/7 monitoring to head off any problems. However, the exact security measures in place and response time statistics for outages are not discussed. Recent reviews found on pcmag.com and other review sources proclaim JustHost uptime rankings that are lower than HostGator and other competitors. Lack of specific server protection or security information may cause some uneasiness with users when it comes to reliability.
JustHost does pride itself on the customer service offered to increase reliability. They strive to personally answer calls quickly and address any issues. For increased comfort, JustHost has a 30 day money back guarantee and will refund your monthly plan price if you cancel. This provides peace of mind even though the money back guarantee has exclusions including set up and domain registration fees.
Ease of Use: (Rating: 9/10)
JustHost’s plethora of tutorials and one-click installs through Mojo Marketplace makes setting up and maintaining a website quick and simple. Their cPanel control panel should be nothing new to anyone who’s familiar with bigger hosting companies, easing the transition from one host to another.
They are known for being user-friendly and uncomplicated. The packages are straight-forward and uncluttered, which exemplifies the fact the JustHost is perfect for the small or start-up business that does not need a great deal of space or anticipated traffic. The email and site building functions are notoriously easy to use and set up, particularly the store capabilities. This hosting choice strives to keep it simple and advertises itself as the simple choice.
Help and Support: (Rating: 8/10)
Just Host has live technical support by phone, live chat, and email. They provide 24/7 support services. Their wait time averages just a few seconds for each customer. You can also contact them by email, in which case the average wait is longer than 24 hours. JustHost is known for having real live native English speakers answering all calls quickly and addressing concerns as quickly as possible. Despite the reputation for answering calls quickly, recent online reviews discuss a concensus that response time has slipped, but those negative reviews do not specifically discount JustHost’s ability to solve issues quickly after problems are addressed. .

What we Like About JustHost
Mojo Marketplace: Web hosting companies are pressured to maintain a pool of features, often adding new ones to “keep up with the Joneses.” Mojo Marketplace removes that burden and allows the host to focus on other priorities. In return, hosting customers are offered better one-click installs, WordPress themes, and branding services than they would normally have.
24/7 Support by Phone and Live Chat: All web hosting companies should offer 24/7 support of some kind to stay competitive, and Just Host knows this. If you work odd hours or are an international customer, you shouldn’t have a problem getting live support.
Money Back Guarantee: Just Host’s money back guarantee is fairly standard. They’ll refund the remainder of your contract, if you signed one. If you’re on a month-to-month billing cycle, you can cancel without penalty. The company keeps the cost of all domains registered through them.
Easy to Use: Their website hosting capabilities and tutorials make it ideal for novices.
What we Don't Like About JustHost
Sporadic Courtesy Backups: Just Host has a confusing and limited backup policy. Anyone can manually backup a site through cPanel, but these backups are deleted after 30 days. Automatic backups are restricted to websites under 30GB and only available to customers who have a paid add-on called Site Backup Pro. Just Host runs backups of their own, but these backups are sporadic (usually weekly) and shouldn’t be counted on. In addition, all backups are risk at of deletion if the account defaults or expires. Basically, to keep data safe, customers can’t rely on Just Host at all. This is the most prudent way to handle important files anyway, but most hosts offer a little more peace of mind.
Forgettable Plans: Overall, Just Host’s packages are quite forgettable. They’re not exceptionally cheap or expensive, and they don’t come with exclusive features. In fact, they barely have names to easily tell them apart from one another. JustHost edges closer to being competitive by offering month-to-month plans, but even then, the packages are priced so much higher than average that it’s clear they don’t expect many people to choose them over annual plans.
Too Simple?: They thrive on the reputation of simplicity, however their features may be too simple for the business who wishes to look professional or who is experimenting with options.
Upsells:/strong> Many features, particularly security features are added charges that could really add up each month.

With a money-back guarantee, affordable rates, and easy to understand website hosting packages, JustHost is the perfect answer. The money-back guarantee and advertising credits set them apart from the competition.
