Meeting Setup: (Rating: 8/10)

Overall, GoMeetNow’s meeting setup is very good. Setting up a meeting is as quick as pushing a web button to start it. Also, members can join a meeting in a matter of seconds – and they too can simply push a button. Unlike other services that often have connection failures, GoMeetNow has a guaranteed connect because they are not blocked by firewalls, locked down computers or unsupported platforms. If attendees fail to join for any reason, GoMeetNow offers a money back guarantee. The only thing we wish they had included was integrated invitations for better usability.

Features: (Rating: 8/10)

GoMeetNow has an excellent set of features. They understand that most meetings are simple, but they also offer robust features for the times when meetings are a little more needy. They have over 40 included features that include true color for image accuracy, remote printing, polling, panelists, file transfers, screen sharing and more. Unfortunately, only Windows users can take advantage of them all; Mac users don’t get specific application sharing or multiple monitor support.

Video: (Rating: 9/10)

GoMeetNow really shines here, with support for 15 simultaneous video streams and up to 11 webcams for each individual meeting. It isn’t HD, but it is still good quality. We hope that they add HD video in the future – because this would help with their true color imaging and give viewers a better meeting experience. Since most screens are HD-ready these days, you would expect a paid web conferencing program to meet the demand.

Audio: (Rating: 8/10)

Audio quality was great during our testing. However, we were perturbed to find that international dial-in customers are charged long-distance rates by their phone companies, even though GoMeetNow itself does not charge for the service. Free VoIP calling is definitely preferable, but is only available for interactive meetings (not seminar meetings).

When it comes to audio quality, you will find HD VoIP with GoMeetNow. For every conference call, they provide two numbers from two different (and very reliable) carriers. This will ensure that every caller can connect and with excellent quality behind that connection. Also, an attendee has two options for connecting: via their computer's microphone and speakers or by calling in. They do have excellent echo cancellation for microphones, but still recommend using a headset-free audio system.

Security: (Rating: 10/10)

GoMeetNow has the industry standard 256-bit SSL encryption.

Ease of Use: (Rating: 10/10)

No downloads for attendees, an intuitive interface, and a wealth of features gets GoMeetNow our highest rating for usability. Joining a meeting is as simple as clicking or calling in. Also, creating a meeting doesn't require any training – you simply push a button from your interface and go through the prompts.

Help and Support: (Rating: 8/10)

Contact support GoMeetNow offers users support tickets, a phone number, FAQ, and a user manual. We would like to see them add chat. Support is available 1:00am to 6:30pm PST Monday through Friday. We hope to see them add weekends in the future, but we do like their extended hours during the day – though some users may find 6:30pm too constricting.

What We Like About GoMeetNow

Guaranteed Webinar Attendance: GoMeetNow offers a no-download, mobile-friendly URL for webinars backed by a refund guarantee. If an attendee cannot access the meeting via the URL, GoMeetNow will refund your monthly fee. This is a rare feature not often found in web conferencing companies.

Ability to Collect Emails:  The host has the option to ask attendees to enter their email address upon joining the meeting.  These emails will then show in the meeting report.

Intuitive Interface: GoMeetNow has a user-friendly interface. All controls are visible from the dashboard, and using webcams, switching presenters, and sharing screens are all simple. There is very little learning curve with GoMeetNow, which means more time to concentrate on the business at hand.

Specific Application Sharing: The presenter can share an entire desktop or just specific applications. When sharing only a specific application, GoMeetNow provides real-time privacy protection. Any time an application accidentally opens on top of the application being shared, the meeting session will instantly pause until the foreign application is removed from the visible area. This ensures no one sees your email notifications, instant messages, and other personal material.

File Transfer: With GoMeetNow, participants can send each other files right from the meeting interface. This eliminates the need to use an outside application to transfer files during a meeting.

Cross-Compatible Recording: GoMeetNow meeting recordings are accessible via the GoMeetNow recording player immediately after a meeting. The recorder works on both PC and Mac. An additional converter, available free through the website, allows users to convert the files to a variety of cross-compatible formats.

Integration: Unlike many of its competitors, GoMeetNow has components that are compatible with both PCs and Macs. For example, it automatically adds meetings to both Outlook and iCal. This sort of cross compatibility is essential in the modern working world.

Flexible, Cost-Effective Pricing: GoMeetNow pricing starts with two participants at only $12.95/month. You can purchase additional meeting capacity for only $1/participant per month. They ask that your purchase them in blocks of five participants, but that’s still only $5 additional a month.

GoMeetNow also offers temporary capacity increases for one or a few days for those larger, infrequent meetings that may come up from time to time. This saves you money but accommodates those occasional large meetings.

Full Video Conferencing: Up to fifteen attendees can use webcams and be seen by everyone in attendance. Most of GoMeetNow’s competitors top out at four to six webcams.

Free Version: GoMeetNow's “free trial” lets users have unlimited meetings for up to two participants. There is no time limit, so this is essentially a free version of the software. Potential customers can try out GoMeetNow at their leisure, without having to worry about canceling a free trial.

What We Don't Like About GoMeetNow

Not all Features Available for Mac: Some of the standard features are missing for the Mac. For instance, specific application sharing is not available to Mac users – you can only share your entire desktop on the Mac. Also, there is no support for multiple monitors with Macs.

Cut-And-Paste Email Invitations: Rather than automatically sending invitations, GoMeetNow requires hosts to cut and paste text from a pop-up into emails and manually send them to invitees. This is an inefficient system, especially for large meetings.

Extra Charges to Call In: Attendees can call in using landlines. However, this incurs long-distance fees with the phone company (GoMeetNow does not charge an additional fee). For this reason, calling in via landline is not a viable choice price-wise.

Confusing Pricing and Costly Service: One big disadvantage to GoMeetNow is how much you could end up paying to use their service. They charge an astounding $12.95 per month for just two participants (one host, one attendee). Then, it is $1 per participant per month with a minimum of five participants. Therefore, if you planned on having 10 attendees to a meeting per month, you could expect to pay $20.95 per month – this is rather expensive.
