We may earn money or products (at no cost to you) from the companies mentioned in this post. However, we do not let any merchant influence our ratings - even though they might like to. ;-) Some of our top rated merchants we have no relationship with, other than we like their products! We do however appreciate you using our links when possible, because it allows us to keep the lights on and bring you more great reviews!

Basket Varieties: (Rating: 10/10)
iGourmet is definitely not short of variety. In fact, they have one of the largest varieties for gift baskets we’ve seen – but they take a different approach to how they create those baskets. Their baskets feature products like beans, pastas, grains, chocolates, desserts, wines and spirits, cheeses, meats and seafood, fruits and vegetables and home and bath baskets.
Their baskets are definitely designed for those that appreciate food and those that know fine foods will see just how vast iGourmet’s variety really is – including their caviars, fondue kits, olive oils, cheese boards and accompaniments, etc.
Customization: (Rating: 7/10)
iGourmet doesn’t just offer premade baskets – they also offer a create-your-own feature. Unfortunately, the create your own feature can be buggy and difficult to figure out – so it is not likely that people will use it or have.
Customers cannot substitute items in the baskets and they do not have the option to add-on to a basket like other gift basket retailers, but that is because they specialize in gourmet food gifts rather than baskets only.
Themes and Sentiments: (Rating: 10/10)
The themes and sentiments on iGourmet are not like your traditional gift basket retailer – and we love it. They are truly designed for the foodie and those that appreciate great food products. They categorize their baskets by the type of main products found – such as cheese, chocolate, sauces, coffee, wine, spices, etc.
While they do have holiday baskets, they don’t have any specific sentiments. That being said, all of these baskets could be used for just about any sentiment – and may be more appreciated than the garden-variety sentiment-themed basket. iGourmet also offers regional themes such as baskets with Mexican, Scottish, Swedish, English, Dutch and even French food. They are the only club so far to offer all dietary concerns with their baskets, including Kosher, organic, vegan, gluten-free, and sugar-free.
Corporate and Business Gifts: (Rating: 9/10)
There is an entire department devoted to corporate buyers on iGourmet.com. They have a live chat for corporate buyers too – so they can get instant help with their order. There is a special menu for corporate gift baskets and the discounts are shown on that section as well. They offer discounts on bulk orders, but at this time do not have much for personalization – such as branding.
Pricing: (Rating: 9/10)
Baskets are relatively affordable with iGourmet. Majority start at over $20, but the best baskets seem to average $50 or higher. Keep in mind that the products included in these baskets are gourmet and include fine food products – including champagne, wine or caviar. Compared to companies that offer similar products (which are few and far between), their prices are great.
Shipping and Delivery: (Rating: 9/10)
Shipping is surprisingly affordable with iGourmet and we love it. They do, however, charge a packaging price of $5.99 for every basket that contains perishable items. This covers any specialty packaging or refrigeration needed to preserve the integrity of the products.
Shipping is based on the order total and type of shipping selected. Standard shipping ranges from $5.99 to 10 percent of the order total, Expedited shipping ranges from $11.99 to $12.00 + five percent of the order total, Overnight ranges from $15.98 to $15.99 + five percent of the order total. Perishable items start at $11.99 to $12.00 + five percent of the order total.
They cannot ship to states that do not allow wine, but all other food-related gifts can be delivered in every state of the United States as well as internationally. They also deliver to APO/FPO addresses and only charge the Standard rate to do so.
There are a select few gift baskets that will ship for free – but the inventory will change based on demand. You can find these items under their menu option for free shipping.
Packaging: (Rating: 10/10)
The products are creatively packaged and there are some that come in very nice baskets – ones you could very easily reuse at home. You can add a gift message to your packages, but you cannot personalize them much more than that.
iGourmet does take extra precaution with their food products to ensure safe delivery. Whether that means airtight packaging, refrigeration, etc. that is why they charge a packaging fee so that they can go the extra mile to preserve the product you have ordered.
Return Policy: (Rating: 10/10)
All items purchased on iGourmet have the 100 percent satisfaction guarantee backing. They guarantee to not hassle and make returns as simple as possible. If you are unsatisfied, you can contact for a replacement or refund as long as you file your claim within 30 days of receiving the products.
Customer Service and Support: (Rating: 10/10)
iGourmet is one of the few online gift basket and gourmet food gift retailers to offer all three outlets of contact including email, toll-free numbers and live chat. They also have a detailed FAQs section as well as separate pages devoted to their corporate policies, shipping and returns.
They are not BBB accredited, but they carry an A+ rating with no complaints on their record as of yet.

Who Should Shop Here?
iGourmet is more ideal for those shopping for gourmet gift baskets that are stepping away from the “vanilla” gift basket options. Those shopping for foodies or even looking to impress clients will be happy with the caliber and variety found on iGourmet.
What We Like
We appreciate iGourmet’s dedication to gourmet food items and we love how they categorize their food – such as by region or food types. They are one of the few to include items like champagne, caviar, and global items too. Their shipping prices are reasonable and they even have free shipping. When it works, the create your own gift basket feature is great too.
What We Don't Like
The menu and browsing options can be confusing – if not overwhelming. Though, we’re not sure if that is technically a bad thing when a company has such a selection. Because a few menu options don’t work or error out, we hope that they can improve that so that they are almost perfect.
iGourmet is an online food retailer that focuses on simplicity, gourmet and fine foods from around the world. They have expertly-created baskets that you cannot find anywhere else – including foods from regions that other companies don’t even consider in their selections.
