All of their voice services run on the cloud, and their own cloud was built-in house to ensure maximum reliability and clear call quality. Jive has collaborated with some of the biggest names in technology – including Cisco, Microsoft and Polycom – to maximize their services. Jive offers Business and Enterprise plans with various tiers for pricing. The more users and lines you add to your plan, the cheaper the per line price is. Prices range from $19.95 per device to $29.95 per device. Jive can handle up to 100 lines/users per account and offer standard features that other companies may charge for.
With their plans, users get unlimited domestic calls, free call recording, unlimited extensions per line, unlimited auto attendants and more. Long-distance calls are charged in addition as well as international calls – but there are no minute limitations. Most companies offer unlimited local and long-distance, so this may be a drawback for business users. Also, Jive Business and Enterprise plans do not come with any contracts; instead, the service is a month-to-month service you can cancel any time before you renew your next month.
Call Management: (Rating: 6/10)
For small businesses and enterprises, they can access their account via the online portal. The administrator can then determine how phone calls will be routed, what handles are used, setting up voicemails and passwords, or adding extensions. The management panel can also set up auto attendants to answer at specific times, or create time-sensitive call routing plans. For those who wish to set up a call center, they can control that center via their administrative panel.
Administrators can add other users and give those permissions to access the admin panel as well. Everything can also be accessed via their mobile app on iPhones and Android phones. And, they offer softphone-answering capabilities.
Available Numbers: (Rating: 7/10)
Each phone number comes with a base rate of $1.75 per month. Then, it is all about adding users. Jive does offer local and toll-free number creation, but they do not offer vanity numbers at this time. Users can port their existing number to Jive for a fee. Jive uses enhanced E911 calling, which automatically sends the users extension, address and even room number to emergency personnel when called. The administrators can also set up alerts for 911 calls so that they are emailed or texted if a 911 call ever goes out on their service. Jive does not specify if this is an added charge or free with their service.
Advanced Features: (Rating: 7/10)
Jive does offer the same standard features for free like most business VoIP providers, including auto attendants, call forwarding, call monitoring, caller ID, etc. But, they also offer features that other companies charge for – like call recording, conference calling, virtual fax, spying, and voicemail to email.
Jive also has robust premium features, such as mobility softphone and their desktop app for admins that want to access their Jive Communications account outside of the web portal. They also offer Outlook integration for easier dialing.
Jive also integrates with other CRM and software programs. Users can integrate with Zendesk, Oracle, Salesforce, Google Chrome, Android and more.
Usability/Ease of Use: (Rating: 6/10)
Jive is easy to use for administrators and new users. Their mobility apps are straightforward to setup and the portal just requires you to login and start making changes. Everything is easy to find, user-friendly and they have many help prompts so that new users are not overwhelmed. The only downside is to use the mobility softphone or desktop app instead of the online portal, users may pay an extra fee. While the online portal is easy to use, it can limit accessibility for some administrators.

Jive features an online knowledge base that is excellent and full of answers. They also offer online help ticket submissions and 24/7 phone and email care. Tech support and customer service are both available 24/7.

What We Like About Jive Communications
Robust Free Features: The free features that come with Jive is impressive. Some are what other service providers would gladly charge for, while Jive Communications offers these features for free. Things like conferencing calling, call recording and even voicemail-to-email are all free business services.
High-Rated Cloud Voice: Jive offers a 99.9% reliability and uptime and they have a Service Level Agreement, which speaks to their commitment to offering customers what they say they are going to do. They use excellent implementation technology and have dedicated support 24/7.
Innovative Web Portal: Users can do everything they need from their web portal. From adding users to creating extensions to viewing analytics and even monitoring calls to particular extensions, there isn’t anything an administrator cannot do on this system.
Advanced Call Analytics: Companies have access to real-time call analytics. They can see who calls theirs company, where they call from and even monitor employee trends for better staffing. For call centers, Jive lets users track dropped calls, wait times and more.
Call Center and Enterprise Ready: Unlike some business VoIP services, Jive can handle enterprises, small businesses and call centers. They offer free call center features like agent login and logout, pre-call announcements, custom hold music and queues, call recording, unlimited queues and more.
24/7 Support: For people new to VoIP, support is critical. Not only does Jive have an impressive knowledge base and FAQs center, but they also have online ticket submission, email and phone support for customer and tech support that runs 24/7.
No Contracts: There are no contracts and no commitments to Jive. If you want to cancel, you are on a month-to-month service plan and would only have to cancel before the next billing date.
What We Didn’t Like About Jive Communications
No Free Trial: Unfortunately, Jive does not offer a free trial. They make up for it by offering no contracts and month-to-month services, but some people may want to try Jive first before committing.
No Included Numbers: All numbers, whether local or toll free will cost you $1.75/month extra. If you are on the 1-4 User Plan they are $5/month extra.
No Vanity Numbers: Unfortunately, Jive does not offer vanity numbers. Users can port their local number as well as their toll-free number over to Jive, but that’s it.
Jive Communications is a lesser-known business VoIP provider, but offers the same features and low costs small and big businesses need. With a max of 100 users and lines, this VoIP provider is worth checking out for any business that needs to upgrade their communications.
