Axvoice

Axvoice is an inexpensive business phone solution for home or very small businesses.

AxVoice

Axvoice is a VoIP provider that solely markets to the small business and home business sectors. While they have excellent pricing, they lack the features higher-ranking providers offer – and some users may feel limited. Also, their call quality, management tools and overall features are less than appealing for most businesses – especially when there are equally affordable providers out there offering much more for the price.

A low cost VoIP provider for small businesses and home-based businesses.

PROS:
  • 15 day money back guarantee
  • Service level agreement
  • Toll-free numbers
  • Number porting
  • No contracts
  • Free in-network calls
  • e911
  • CONS:
    • No unlimited plans
    • Small and home-based business only
    • No conference calling or queues
    • No mobile app
    • No CRM integration
    • No call analytics
    • Limited support

    Pricing/Minutes/Contract: (Rating: 5/10)

The prices for Axvoice Business are remarkably cheap, but for those low prices, users do not get much in terms of minutes or features. Business users can choose between the small business plan at $29.99 per month for only 1500 minutes, while home business users can get 200 minutes $14.99 per month. There is a 1 year contract, but users can only sign up for a month-to-month plan.

Unfortunately, there is only a 15-day money back guarantee period. Users can dial internationally, but the rates are steep for some countries.

    Call Management: (Rating: 4/10)

Call management is very basic with Axvoice Business. There is no queue system, and users cannot access their account via a mobile app. The only way to manage their account is through the online portal. Outlook and CRM cannot be integrated, there is no click-from-web and users cannot assess account analytics, add extensions for users, etc. Users can add users and separate phone numbers per users, access call logs, and features from the online portal.

    Available Numbers: (Rating: 5/10)

Users can port their existing number, but it may take several weeks depending on the original provider they are porting from. Toll-free numbers are available as well as virtual numbers, but for an extra fee. There are no vanity numbers available with Axvoice Business.

    Advanced Features: (Rating: 4/10)

Axvoice boasts about their advanced features, but most of the advanced features they offer are part of a standard list that other providers offer for free. These are the basic features you would expect to get from a virtual phone service provider – such as caller ID, voicemail to email, etc. They do not have features like call queue or video chat or even fax capabilities. But, despite all of that, the features they do offer may be all a small business or home business needs.

    Usability/Ease of Use: (Rating: 4/10)

Axvoice does have an online user panel that is fairly user-friendly, but their lack of guides online may make it difficult for unfamiliar VoIP users to figure it out at first. Because there is no mobile app to help control/monitor a VoIP account, and there are limited management features, some users may find it too complicated. But, for others, the simplicity of the system may be more than enough – or even welcomed.

    Help & Support: (Rating: 4/10)

There is no 24/7 help support or live chat. You can submit a help desk ticket and while they have a few online help guides, there is no where near enough information for a user to really sink their teeth into let alone figure out what they need.

What We Like About Axvoice Business

Home Office Plans: We like that Axvoice offers home business owners a chance to get a plan with a discounted rate. While the minutes are low, most home-based businesses operate solely online, so they may not need more than 200 minutes. And, having a dedicated office telephone number could make their business more profssional.

15 Day Money Back Guarantee: While they may not have a free trial, Axvoice does give users the chance to try their services for 15 days with no obligations and a full money back guarantee if they choose to cancel within that period.

Service Level Agreement: Surprisingly, for a smaller VoIP provider, they offer a service level agreement. This guarantees the level of service you will receive from Axvoice Business, which can be reassuring for some business users.

Toll-Free Numbers: For an added fee, business users can create their own toll-free numbers through Axvoice Business.

Contracts Optional: Users can sign up for a contract or go month-to-month. Either way, they are not punished for opting for a month-to-month contract with the company.

Number Porting: A business user that already has a phone can still use that number on their Axvoice account. The number of days it will take to port that number can vary.

Free Network and Inbound Calls: While business users have restrictions on their monthly minutes, this is for outbound calls only. Users who receive calls will not use up their minute quota and if they call someone within the approved Axvoice network, they do not use up any of their minutes.

What We Didn't Like About Axvoice Business

No Unlimited Plans: Some business users will not like the idea of paying almost $30 per month for only 1500 minutes – when there are other providers who offer similar pricing, more features and unlimited local and long-distance calling. Also, home-based businesses may find the 200 minutes per month to be too restricting and the steep pricing for overages could add up quickly.

No Large Company Support: Axvoice Business is really only suitable for small businesses with a handful of employees or home-based business owners. They lack the capacity and features to offer services to larger companies or even medium-sized companies.

No Conference Calling or Queues: There is three-way calling, but conference calls and call queues are not available; therefore, some business users may find it limiting or if they need a call-center like environment, they will need to find a different provider.

Only 30 Free Features: When you compare them to other business accounts, Axvoice only offers 30 features for free, while other service providers include 40 or more – and with similar pricing.

No Mobile App: While they do allow you to use your mobile phone for a softphone, they do not have a mobile app and controlling your Axvoice Business account is limited to online portals only – which may be too basic for some business users or those who like to travel and access their accounts via apps.

Limited Support: The extremely limited support is frustrating for some users. Those with pressing questions may find that they are stuck waiting a few hours to days to find out what they need and the information provided in their help and support guides is not as in-depth as other providers.

    4.3 Total Score
    Affordable plans, but low minutes.

Axvoice Business offers affordable VoIP services, but that affordability comes with limited features and options. While the service may be ideal for a company just starting out, most businesses may find they get more for their money elsewhere.
